182 Days Down & Eternity To Go

My little baby is 6 months old today. He was breastfed the entire time and up until yesterday and had never had food. We did it, we made it! Yesterday I let him chomp on a cold carrot, but he didn’t “eat” it per-say. We may try avocado today or maybe tomorrow, I’m in no rush to see my baby grow up. If he wants to EBF for a year, he is more than welcome too.

He amazes me everyday though. He has learned so much over the last 6 months, and has never failed at making his mama smile. His precious giggles make me the happiest girl in the world and I can honestly say, he makes my life complete.
At 6 months old my baby can smile, laugh, giggle, hold things and play with them, sit unassisted for long periods of time, roll, roll again, roll some more, scooch on his belly and even stand assisted by a ledge or my hands. Last night he said “da da” and my heart skipped a beat. He has accomplished so many firsts and I can’t wait to see what he learns next.
The last 6 months have been so special. We have bonded through breastfeeding, baby wearing and even co-sleeping. He has shown me that all of those things are beautiful and what he needed. I’m proud that I never let you cry it out and when we were faced with a dwindled milk supply, our friend Jessica gave us encouragement to carry on.

I know one day you will look at me, and not want to snuggle, hug or reminisce, but I will always remember the days we shared when you were an infant.
Thank you Atticus for choosing me to be your mother. I love you.0
Its 7:00am and in a few short minutes you will be 6 months old… 182 days, 26 weeks, it just doesn’t seem real
