Two months prior to having Harper we decided to do a Maternity/Family shoot with Eric from ESG Photography. Eric and I went to high school together way back in the day so I have been able to view is work via Facebook over the years. I was so excited to work with him and finally get some updated pictures of the family. We decided that we would meet around 4:30p.m. at Tempe Center for the Arts so we could get some nice photos before the sunset. Eric suggested this location because we were really hoping to get some shots on a train track. He was really willing to meet us anywhere and wanted to make sure that our vision was met.
His booking rate gave us 2 hours with him. And boy oh boy did we put him to WORK! Lily was not in the mood to be photographed apparently. I have to say that I was extremely impressed with his patience. He tried so hard to get her to cooperate. I can honestly say that I know that it was a genuine desire that we were happy with our photos. He never lost his cool or gave up. If you have ever tried to get pictures with a stubborn child you can appreciate just how much that meant to me as a parent. Plus he got brownie points when he didn’t make fun of me for biffing it… twice. After the two hour session and a memory card change I was confident that I would have something I would be happy with, even if Lily wasn’t in many of them.
It took about a week and I woke up with pregnancy insomnia to an email from Eric. It was fill of a sneak peek from our session. I was in love!! The shots he shared were beautiful. The spontaneous moments that photographers capture is such beautiful artform and he is a master at it. It was about another week until my entire session was available to view online. He just puts them onto a web service and I got to order prints directly from there. It was very easy and convient. All-in-all there were about 95 pictures that I got. I am 1000000% sure had my 2 year-old cooperated than he would have had more to work with. They were all beautifully edited and were more than I could even have hoped for.
If you are looking for a extremely family-friendly photographer I highly recommend Eric. He is awesome for maternity and family shoots. He is also available for engagements, weddings, newborn or any other event that you want to have ever-lasting memories of.
