At the Mommy Dialogues we use a lot of diapers! One of our favorite brands is Fuzzibunz and Kelli, Xza and Jessica all love their diapers by this great brand. Xza uses the perfect size diapers on Atticus, Kelli uses perfect size on Adele and Jessica uses two different types of one size on Cormac and Clara. Read below for Kelli and Jessica’s reviews.
Kelli reviewed the Perfect Size Diaper
Ease of use: Very easy to use. My husband prefers velcro, so he has a bit of trouble lining snaps up, but that is the case with any diaper that isn’t velcro, so it can’t count against them!
Fit: Great. My fuzzibunz are my only sized diapers, all of our others are one size, so these fit much trimmer than most of our other diapers.
Wetness Protection: Good. I started using these before I should have. Adele’s legs were just too skinny for quite some time, so they would leak at night. During the day, they have always been fine, but for nighttime, if you are using the Perfect Size, make sure the baby is big enough for the diaper to contain the pee. We have had many leaks due to this issue. Now that she is more solidly in the size range the diaper was intended for, the wetness protection is much better, I’d say as good as any of my other favorite diapers.
Durability: Excellent! We have been using these for about 9 months, and they have held up far better than any of our other brands. The microfiber inserts still look brand new!
What else do you use?/Is this your primary diaper? No, this is not our primary diaper. We use fuzzibunz, BumGenius, and Sunbaby diapers.
Overall, I love these diapers. I wash our diaper with Country Save detergent and soak/strip with tea tree oil about once a month. I never, ever dry in the dryer. I line dry outside when possible, and in the winter I dry on a drying rack. I believe this is one of the biggest factors that contributes to keeping diapers smell-free and adds to their longevity. I dried my diapers on the lowest setting a couple of times in the dryer and had smell problems not long after each time. So I always, always hang to dry. My fuzzibunz diapers have held up by far the best of any of our other diapers in the last year that we’ve been cloth diapering.
Jessica’s Review of the One Size and One Size Elite
Ease of use: Extremely easy to use! The only thing that would make them easier would be velcro, but then we would be sacrificing the life of the diaper, and I intend on using these diapers for a few years.
Fit: Pretty good. A little bulky for my ten-pound twins, but they are one size diapers, so I expect some bulk. The Elites are a little bit trimmer than my older versions and the minky inserts are absolutely brilliant. I bought some extra inserts for my other diapers because I am so in love with them.
Wetness Protection: Fair to good. With skinny legs, I know that there is some chance of leakage. If a diaper doesn’t get changed by 3 hours after it was put on, I can expect a wet inner thigh or two. I don’t think this is an absorbency issue, just more of a fit issue on skinny baby legs. So I change them often, which is a good thing anyhow. I have not had a single blowout while using them though. Poop is contained.
Durability: So far, so good. We are on month 3 of cloth diapering.
What else do you use?/Is this your primary diaper? We use disposables at night, in case the twins sleep for more than three hours (it happens) at a time. Once the diapers fit a little better we will be trying to find a doubler option that works for us. Fuzzibunz is definitely our primary diaper.
I did have some snap issues on four diapers. I think that the folks at Fuzzibunz must have gotten a bad batch of diapers. So I went to their website and filled out a warranty claim (they have a one year warranty for defects) and it was a breeze. The warranty process was a piece of cake and involved me taking pictures of the faulty diapers, explaining what was wrong, and getting new diapers in the mail. Their customer service is definitely worth spending a little extra money on. Other than those four bummer snaps (which broke before or during the first week we used them), the quality of these diapers is impeccable. I am very happy with our investment and plan on getting all the use out of the diapers that we can.
