Invisible GM Ingredients

When I posted my last GMO post, I had a few people ask me about shopping solutions. I am the first to admit that the task of grocery shopping for my family has changed from a bad dream to a full blown NIGHTMARE! Now my shopping trips consist of a ton of label reading, which by-the-way is the opposite of fun with three kids. Back to the point… I decided to share with you the list I use to help me the hidden the GM ingredients in products. I found this list on THIS website… I am sure there is some things missing but it is a good start.

The main thing that I have found to be most difficult is the animal by-products. “Supposedly” USDA Organic products mean that the animal was fed organic aka Non GMO products. Being the skeptic I am… I would just prefer to find my own rancher and farm that I can learn about and trust. Until that day comes I am buying organic milk, cheese, eggs and meat.

My husband works at a grocery store (so do I occasionally) so we know everyone there, and every time we go for a big shopping trip we always get jokes.. after jokes… after jokes about how we take the longest to shop of ANYONE. But this is why, it’s not just gmo we are looking for, but food allergies. I’m allergic to corn and our oldest is allergic to wheat. Corn is in just about everything anymore, and if it’s not in it directly… well there was probably something derived from it. Frustrating. It took us a while to get where we have some trusted brands that cut down on our shopping time. Nice list and if you find that rancher/farm, lmk 😉
