“Congratulations! Today is your day. You’re off to Great Places! You’re off and away!” Dr. Seuss
My first carrier was a homemade stretchy wrap. I took 5 yards of jersey fabric that was on clearance, cut it in half length-wise and BOOM I had my first carrier. It held Owen for the first few months and only took me a few tries to master the wrapping part. I used it 24-7 and gave the other half of the fabric away to pass along the babywearing love. When Owen began to sag and get heavy I began doing my research and decided to order an SSC (soft structured carrier). It was the most versatile for our budget; best thing EVER! When I received it in the mail the first I thing I did was go for a walk.
I am a huge lover of SSC’s!! They are easy to put on, easy to adjust, and comfortable for long wearing. We keep one in the car and one in the house, and even Bella has one for her babies. My favorite SSC is the Ergo. I recently added the Ergo Organic to our family and so far I love it!! I can carry my 27 pound, 2 year old for more than an hour without feeling the strain. The shoulder straps are super padded and comfy. It’s super easy to put on and since my toddler wants up and down and then back up again, it’s quick for us. I can nurse in the Ergo easily and it’s my go-to way of comforting my little one when he’s sick or grumpy, especially when I need to keep going.
Oh the places we go with our Ergo!!
To the park and hiking in the woods.
On vacation, and out to dinner.
Shopping for grocery’s or shopping for clothes.
To the zoo and museums
