There have been a few different subscription-based boxes of baby goodies popping up on the market recently and I love the idea of getting a package full of highly rated surprises in the mail. Who wouldn’t want to find a package on their doorstep filled with cutting edge products that you would not have been able to buy for the price that you pay for a monthly subscription? Sounds pretty awesome to me.
And I thought that maybe the Teetheme box would be a fantastic baby shower gift for one of the many soon-to-be-mamas in my life at the moment. As long as it didn’t suck, that is. So I found a promo code online and ordered a Teetheme box for 20% off and waited to see what they would bring me.
Cost: $24 per month
Inside the box:
iPlay baby sunglasses
Swaddle designs security blanket
City grips stroller handle covers (*more on this below)
Little Pim Spanish language DVD
I actually like the DVD. It’s awesome and I now know how to say hug in Spanish and Clara’s first word might be “Hola.” The security blanket… We already have blankets. I know they can’t forsee that, but my children haven’t really bonded with any items. Except maybe that Hevea natural rubber bath frog that my mom bought. Cormac LOVES that thing. The sunglasses are okay, but not very high quality. They’re fairly flimsy. And the stroller handle covers? I wish I could tell you, but I can’t. My box was missing them.
I sent an email to Teetheme to cancel my subscription. I had only planned on a single month to begin with – I was just testing the waters. But I also let them know that my box had been missing some stroller handle covers. They thanked me for letting them know so that they could resolve the issue in future boxes. They didn’t offer to let me try another month, or even to send me the handle covers (which wouldn’t work for my stroller, but that’s hardly the point).
I feel like when you are starting a business and customers are unhappy, you should promptly resolve the issues and do your best to keep every customer around. I am very disappointed with this box. The contents were mediocre and the customer service was poor.
We promise to let our readers know when we love or hate products, and I did not like this product. I gave them two stars – one for the contents and one for the price (which is reasonable). If they had sent all the contents or reached out to me when I described a problem, they might have gotten more stars. They do have good giveaways and are growing, so they might be able to fix these sorts of problems in the future. Let’s hope so.
