That Bites. Let’s Have a Giveaway!

The days of a toothless, gummy baby are so far from my mind, when I met Laney’s beautiful 5-week old daughter, Penny, I had almost forgotten what it was like. I used to be able to let Atticus calmly suck on my finger to soothe if we were unable to nurse right away. Smiling gummy babies are just so cute, and so are big smiled toothed ones, but what is not cute is biting. My son is a biter. He has never been a bad teether, but if he is over-tired, hungry or just plain fed up with whatever is going on he will sink those teeth in and OUCH. Ouch. Ouch.

The worst part of having a biter, is that he occasionally does it while we babywear. Most notably when we are standing in line at airport security. Screaming on my part isn’t an option, and there’s no graceful way of lecturing a 17 month old on why biting isn’t allowed, and why it hurts. Oh does it hurt, it hurts so so bad. The only thing I have been able to do get him to not bite is to distract him, and that is where teething jewelry has come in.

Teething jewelry has really helped. I wear one of the non-toxic silicone necklaces from GumiGem, and he is able to play with my necklace, teeth on it, and bite everything except me. Perfect.

In a back carry it also works great. He has never pulled hard enough for it to annoy or hurt me, so you won’t have to worry about that either. Back biting is actually worse than front biting, because you don’t see it coming. I have heard many moms deal with this problem, and I am so happy to finally have a solution to the problem.

And because I think every mom with a back biter needs some teething jewelry, I teamed up with GumiGem to offer a giveaway, and because every mom needs a good baby carrier, Lillebaby is sending you a Lillebaby Complete too!

Winner will receive…

A Lillebaby Complete Carrier that will last from birth to toddlerhood. Stay tuned for a full review of the carrier later this summer by Laney, but her initial thoughts are “I had no idea there were such comfy carriers out there”

A set of teething jewelry from GumiGem USA plus all our readers can use code ” MD10″ for 10% off any item on the website
