A sometimes housewife turned work at home mom to a darling little boy named Atticus. I’m in my 20s, but an old soul at heart. I try to live life one day at a time and am constantly looking for ways to revamp our household one craft at a time. My husband, Kevin, and I have been married for 3 years and were thrilled to welcome our first son Atticus on 11/30/11 after 3 weeks of prodromal labor. You will be able to read all about that in our birth story.

I try to take one day at a time, realizing that taking a few short cuts is OK. Each day I try to live a little better and try a little harder. I’m not the cleanest mommy on the block, but I am certainly the most OCD. Everything has its place and my house doesn’t have nearly enough places for all the stuff. I collect and wear vintage 1950s dresses just about everyday and my husband collects old English pottery. We actually have way too many collections among us, hence the not enough space part.
Some couples co-sleep, we co-live. We spend 9 months of the year in Chicago and 3 months on the sandy shores of Lake Michigan in a rural Michigan town called Hagar Shores. We love the simple things in life and
when given the opportunity eat local, buy local and think local.
Join me on my journey as I discover that my husband really won’t notice when I use instant mashed potatoes and that my onions don’t need to be perfectly diced. Sometimes short cuts are OK and as long as there is love, music and laughter… my household is complete.
