This past weekend we celebrated our last baby’s birthday. Harper turned 1 on Friday so we celebrated with a yummy cupcake and a trip to ZooLights. It was a nice and cozy way to spend her very first birthday. The next day was her big shindig. I have been working on the decorations and planning the details for the last few months. Watching it all come together was both nerve-racking and so rewarding. Her celebration was perfect. It was a low-key event full of family and love. There was no theme other then books, balloons and vintage fabric. It was pretty perfect.
Here are some pictures for you to enjoy:
Let’s start with the food! We provided yummy finger sandwiches, salad and a cookie buffet complete with milk! Decorations… everything was made by yours truly with materials found at a thrift store, garage sales, lying around the house, etc. We asked for everyone to bring books for the birthday girl. We also asked that they gift one to donate to a local children’s charity. She loved opening all the gifts and she LOVES the books even more.
All-in-all I think she had a great birthday weekend. I am glad we decided to have a party for her the day after her actual birthday so I could soak up all the feelings that came with her turning the big uno. I think she enjoyed all the festivities, especially the cake…after all, she is my daughter!
