How cute is this vintage jacket? It was a gift from our friend Heather who sells vintage clothing here
If you didn’t know that .666 of a year is 8 months, consider yourself informed. What will this month bring us? If it’s anything like the number suggests, I may be in trouble. Our first official night as an 8 month old was hellish. It was BRU-TAL. First of all, little man decided he would stay up till well after midnight crawling around the bed. Yup, no crying, no fussing just partying up till the wee hours of the morning. When he finally dosed off he was out like a light, or so I thought. Come 3am and he woke up crying. I tried the boob, nope. I tried burping him, nope. Then I realized he was having a night terror. It was awful. I couldn’t do anything to help him out of his horrible dream and he cried so hard. When he finally woke up out of his night terror, I tried comforting him and nursing. He was still breathing very heavy and panicky. I turned on the “Letter T” from Sesame Street. It is his favorite song and when he hears it, he always settles down. After playing the Letter T three times he was finally able to drift back asleep.
Now that our first night is behind us, I can talk about the new and interesting.
He “crawls” …. or at least gets around well when I am not in the room. Keeping him naked on a towel no longer works.
He LOVES Boris Vladimir Poochkin. He thinks he is the funniest dog ever and lights up whenever he see’s him.
We still babywear and Atticus loves it.
He has perfected the super pouty lip face and is still a vibrant ginger.
He Still doesn’t like food, but loves the unsweetened, unsulfered dried mango from Trader Joes. He also loves his Boon Catch Bowl almost as much as mommy enjoys not picking up food off the floor. The bowl works great and sticks to our table and his high chair tray using a suction cup bottom.
Nursing is still his preferred form of nutrition. We are 8 months strong!
His 8 month Sundae. Well technically, it was my “I’m so sad my baby is already 8 months old so I am going to drown myself in deliciousness” sundae, but we let Atticus pose with it, which rapidly turned into his hands being covered in whipped cream and him laughing hysterically. Whoops.
He smiles and has the biggest belly laughs. He is seriously the happiest baby on the block.
I wasn’t sure If I was going to like the month-by-month clothing stickers, but after using them this month, I am kind of bummed that I didn’t have them the entire duration of Atticus’ infancy. I think they look great in photos and I won’t confuse his 8 month portraits with his 7 months.
