Nursing till college

“Doesn’t that hurt your back?”

“Nope, it’s very supportive.”

“Doesn’t he walk?”

“Yes, he likes walking and bolting in parking lots and touching random outdoor objects….”

“.. Yeah, you are going to spoil him by wearing him like that. Also, how much longer will you be breast feeding for?”

“Till college.”

“No, really, how long will you be doing that for?”

“Till he finishes his undergrad, I’ve already discussed how nursing during grad school is completely inappropriate.”

Don’t you love when well-meaning strangers give you their 2 cents? I remember typing up this very conversation right after it happened while at a play space in Chicago.

Mama’s: find confidence in your decision to parent in a way that is instinctual to you. You can do this; fuck the naysayers.
