It seems like there is a common theme amongst the TMD writers… resolutions suck. Resolutions are for the uncool. Resolutions are for those that aren’t awesome. Resolutions just aren’t my style…. Until this year that is. Because I am exponentially cooler than the term “resolution,” I am going to create my own term for the goals and achievements I want to see come out of the Xzasphere in 2014.
What are those you ask?
Be a badass. Duh.
Ok, all kidding aside, and let’s leave the cockiness at the door for a bit. I have always applauded those that followed through on their resolutions. I mean truly, it takes some damn strong dedication to achieve those goals, and for me, a single date has never changed what I wanted to achieve out of life, but this year, I am doing something different.
As a business woman I have created 12 goals I would like to see happen for MommyCon in 2014. One goal a month. They are easy, but still a bit of a challenge. TMD, also has 12 goals, and I figured I should put my real-life, non-work-life to the test as well.
So without further ado, here are my 12 goals as a mother, wife and woman.
1. Sign up for pole dancing classes.
My mother is probably horrified that I didn’t put a disclaimer at the top of this post, but I am SO excited about this. Not, because I want to become a stripper, but because it is an awesome workout. I want to tone my arms, back and legs, and this will seriously help. I start in two weeks.
2. Blog more, blog better, just blog.
MommyCon kept me super busy in 2014, and thanks to Amanda, and my fellow blog-sister’s, I am making it a point to blog more. Please, readers… hold me to this.
3. Use technology less
This will be my biggest challenge, today for instance I left my phone upstairs for 2 hours. I want to see this time frame stretch to 4 hours at a time, and have dedicated phone hours. I don’t need to be working constantly, and as much as I love knowing about what my friends are up to, I need to be less connected.
4. Take a pay check
5. Book a trip overseas
I have been dying to go back overseas…. Anywhere really, maybe for MommyCon site tours, maybe not. We will just have to wait and see.
6. Clean More, Whine Less.
Ok, maybe this one won’t happen, but I am already off to a great start on getting ahead on household chores, and duties.
7. Get Atticus to sleep in his own bed.
It has to happen sometime or other, let’s make it happen in 2014!
8. Less TV. Seriously, TV, F U.
I loathe the TV, and hate that Atticus evens knows how to turn it on, and asks for it. That’s a sign there is too much TV in our life.
9. Enjoy a plant based diet
Vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian… all these words, and not enough of me. I need to go with the flow, and create a diet that is balanced, healthy, fulfilling and plant based.
10. Waste less.
By creating a plant based diet, I hope to waste less food in 2014. I don’t want to throw things out as carelessly as I did in 2013.
11. Get back into yoga.
My inner yogi wants to come out, and I need to figure out how to convince my neighborhood gym to offer more yoga classes. If not, I will just have to Zumba my way into Om.
12. Be a Badass.
Yes, it all comes down to being a badass mama in this crazy world. I have a full blown toddler, I want to embrace him, and all his kooky qualities. I want to explore the world with him, and most of all, I don’t want to waste a day, because of a to-do list. I want to be present for him, and that will in turn make me a badass mama-bear.
